I came here because you have criticized DVds shared on my site. I came here to say you should stop criticising what others are doing and start doing something yourselves. SJ was a great place but it was.... Now a days you are really doing nothing but still criticizing and attacking us because of the mp3 thingy. I don't think i am better than none of you. I've been avoiding visiting MDTM and SJ just to don't get upset with your sarcastiscs comments. I am not interested in the system you are planning. But please, do not say you hate something all your members are doing since a long time, since JBT and WTR wasn't even been created: a competition. And more, sorry, but i have to say, most of you guys don't have even one percent of respect for other people. You have called freecloud as pregnant dog, you have said you have more important things to do instead of talking to us to solve the ban problems, you go to our "houses" to get stuff and criticize us everythime, everywhere.... Sincerely, you have your rights if you don't like mp3 format. And we have our rights as well. You think your way is right, we think our way is right. We could be a big group but you have started this war, not us. Please get it right. It was me who made the first criticism. My criticism was NOT meant to create a war... more the opposite. It was supposed to be CONSTRUCTIVE by suggesting that we work together to create quality material, but unfortunately, you (Saloca) take it as a personal issue. I was simply suggesting that if you want a better product getting to the Bowie community, then you could send the raw video material to somebody like G or dragpeace to get a quality DVD produced. They could then send the resultant DVD back to YOU for torrenting. There is no SJ anymore so you DON'T have any competition there... and the quality DVDs produced will lift the value of your own torrent sites in the eyes of ALL Bowie fans. Needless to say, I'm sorry you can't see beyond your own little world. :-( Cheers, Goblin

All the DVDs shared in SJ were in the highest quality and that's not difficult. A good PC encoder (best than a standalone recorder) like TMPEGenc or Canopus or CCE, etc with the best settings available. And waht Tony said is true. Doing that every member of the whole bowie community will be happy with their dvds.

^^^ Well Done ! ^^^ A very clear and concise post. You answered my questions before I had a chance to ask !! ps I believe a $5 a month donation per user, is a very reasonable and sustainable estimate. I have always had "good luck" using PAYPAL. Any thoughts? Yes This is what we need - servers.aplus.net/standard.htmlA dedicated server, it would be perfect for a torrent site, and have plenty of resources/room for expansion. $99 per month. (Can We) Do That ? Hello SASH: Thank You very much for trying to get us back on topic. (I was a little depressed, that I made a effort to contribute a idea, and I never got a reply. I felt unwelcomed here. Is this site going to be for some "inner circle" too ?). see-ya

Getting a dedicated server supplied by someone else for the use of torrents is getting to be a very difficult thing to secure, many hosts that would previously host something like this are starting to turn away from such sites. I am still working on getting a dedicated server up and running.

One of the things I really liked about savagejaw was that everyone was free to join in. What you say is true about shared web space, but most hosts (not all) would be cool with providing a dedicated server for a torrent site. www.aplus.net provide a dedicated server for The Arcade Fire torrent site, so they would be happy to do the same for us. A home server could be perfect for this site, but it's good to know alternatives and costs.

"I don't think it will ever become inner circle, I hope not. One of the things I really liked about savagejaw was that everyone was free to join in."
When I mentioned Inner Circle i meant the Mods inner Circle. or chosen "few" super user friends. They seemed to be PMing each other alot and sharing goodies and secrets off-line.
TRUE everybody was welcomed to become a member. but The ONLY "bad" thing I could EVER say about The SAVAGE JAW site is: Unless you were a known friend of the Mods. Your questions or posts never got more then a few short words reply. and boy if you ever caught BEWLEY on a bad day he would rip you to shreds for the slightest misinterpretations. (and he never fully expected any apologies even when it was HIS misinterpretation of your words) To this day I will never use smilies again. LOL (Does anybody else feel they got blasted for a mistake?)
Just 1 more thing. Does anybody remember the time, when a supposed "Holy Grail" version of the 50th Birthday Concert was offered. The Chap was subjected to major flames about his Technical Skills and equipment. No wonder he ran away. Sometimes the quest for "the best quality" got unfriendly and ruthless. Will we have that same situation "here".
What will be GOOD ENOUGH? never forget A bird in the Hand is worth two in the Bush !!
thanks, just being honest. 10-4

"See PM"
Cheers, Goblin.

I have that bday show and at the time it was ripped to pieces lol. I shall not be torrenting such things now or at any time soon. I shall not devulge anymore information in regards to that recording as it is a closed matter as far as i'm concerned. I had my arguments with pretty much everyone involved with SJ and other sites and I still come out without any bad feelings towards anyone. My Nassau recording was also ripped to pieces but so be it, thats the power of free speech and everyone has a right to express his/her own opinion on matters, and thats the way it should be. Unfortunatly some folk seem to dwell on the negative and the past and cannot move ahead with anything, and there ill alays be folk like that. If you cant be open to critizism about anything you put in the public domain, then you have no right in posting such material. That kind of follows a quote to me once upon a time and it went along the lines of, if you make a recording and make it available on the interent then too bad anyone can do what they want with it.
We seem to be always getting of topic in this one area of the forum, and let me put it back on topic. If you ant to visit this new site, nobody is going to stop you or make you less of a person for doing so. It does offer a comprehensive list of material that covers most of Bowies live career, though its not always the best of material, it does give a bowie fan something to listen too. I stated above that it was not personally the site for me, It may be for others. At the same time the ppl that run that site must be open to negative posts about there siteas that is something that happens on all sites regardless of what they offer. Especially when those posts are on a different site altogether, I remember making that mistake before and its not the best thing to do.
so if you like go visit this site, if not then dont. We should move onto bigger better things than this. Please look ahead to the future and not to the past for answers.

^^^^ That should do nicely for the "final" word ^^^^ and now for something completely different. I can see that this site is called Waiting for Savage Jaw. (but is that all we are doing, IS waiting ?) Why is there no site called "Savage Jaw too" and we start the torrent sharing? What is the semi-official "high" quality TORRENT only trading site that is linked to waitingforsj.proboards57.com/index.cgi?action=login has ANYBODY said that KORUPTS site is NOT going to be OUR official place. Or does he prefer to "lock" out others from "messing" with it. and we can only get what is given by him and if he has it to give? (which is more then MOST of us ) Thank You. PS I have no venom !!! I just want the best for everyone, and I want it F@@king Now !!

Maybe you'd like to contribute that way? I'm sure... Just trying to help things along. :-) Cheers, Goblin
