Just my 2 pence / cents worth.....
Hmm, c'mon guys don't you think criticizing another site is a bit over the top. OK, the Shadowman may be providing downloads in Mp3 format but if you don't want to download them.... then don't! I know we all miss Savage Jaw and the quality control it provided, but would it not be better to try getting this site or a new one working as good as (or better) than SJ was, rather than complaining about another site (who after all is providing a service for bowie fans). If we start off moaning like that what chance have we got of working together.

Another good man for the job would be Savage Jaw himself (if you can find him) , although I think he does better work with TV show mastering. Just consider.. The Wounded and Dumb (or was this G's?) Jools Holland Musikladen Jonathon Ross Parkinson, etc ... all fantastic works. :-) Cheers, Goblin

PS... pierrot: By "incredible", I am assuming you mean "incredibly bad"? Yes, it was incredibly bad. Even if it's the only video of the tour, I simply couldn't watch it. For the Montreal one, I can't remember. PS: sorry goblin, I had missed your post.

On a side note Saloca: I don't feel G deserved that !! But you feel we deserve everything you've done, don't you Piras? .... i see... .... You know i have nothing against you (all), and maybe i would be smart enough one day to understand your judgement criteria. Anyway, i appreciate G comments at JBT and also his offer here. He is a gentleman, as usual. But now i can do that by myself. I've just used it as example and i didn't meant to hurt him. (G, i apologize sincerely if i've hurted you) Btw, why are you waiting for SJ? Why don't you do something yourselves? ...

Saloca wrote:No apologies needed, Saloca. To hurt me properly, you would need to take a dagger to my heart Yes, I have been critical of some of the material I have downloaded at JBT and will continue to do the same if I feel the need. I'm only offering advice on how a better job might be done in future and I'm sure my comments are taken in good spirit. Regards, G.

It seems there was a lot of activity here this weekend. Think of two groups. One that wants the best quality they can get and feel contaminated with the mp3 polution and poor vhs-dvd transfers. The other group just want to everyone having everything bowie related. This have been like that for about 2 years. Let both sites exist! We could talk about the releases in JBT and simply judge if it fit our quality criteria. That's all. And if it's a well done conversion, download it and follow JBT rules. Later it could be reseed if no one complained. About Audio bootlegs it's simply to download a track and check if it comes from mp3 or not. The main thing is that nowadays making a good transfer to dvd is so easy. Just take a good video card or a digital8 - minidv camcorder or just a standalone dvd recorder and apply THE BEST SETTINGS!!! is that so difficult? Btw, why are you waiting for SJ? Why don't you do something yourselves? ... c'mon Saloca. we're just reorganizing this thing. now that we know that SJ won't coming back, we'll create a new torrent site or use one of the sites offered by some members. And you'll welcome if you like rules based on quality. Also, feel free to register here and ask for help when you have "dvd conversions" doubts.
Btw, why are you waiting for SJ? Why don't you do something yourselves? ...
Well, I guess that even the name of the site now sounds weird...we all know that SJ will surely never come back, and also...SJ himself did not disappear, so...no mistery, he's ok, it's just finished and I understood he plans nothing for the future.(Who disappeared again is Bewley, hope everything's ok.Just give us a hi Bewls!) I guess we could rename this site SJ 2, The Revenge, or something better than that (just kidding... ) As for doing something, i'm sure that Dopazo has this in mind, but some time is needed to get things started in a decent way, have to find the right people too, and I understand from his post that he's working for that.

Bewley is fine. He's currently settling back into some sort of work situation. Fortunately, the company he works for had immediate work for him to start. Since he lost his computer, and everything on the HD, he's purchased a more mobile solution. In addition to this, I expect he's got more than his hands full getting his home in some resemblance of order, so I wouldn't expect to see him put in more than a token 'Hi' - at least in the short term. He does appreciate your thoughts. While the name of this forum now seems inappropriate, I think we all may have realised how hard it is to put something like SJ and MDTM together. At least there has been some discussion here, and that's a start. Cheers, Goblin.

Is it worth running some sort of poll/competition to find a new name for the site?
