What would we all like to see?
The same Savage Jaw or could there be any improvements?

Hi piras I don't know if this could be considered as an 'improvement' or not, since best quality possible was always late SJ's policy, but I think some of us would maybe be interested in seeing more amateur shot DVDs from live shows, even if the shooting is at times a bit shaky, or the sound not what it should be on one or two songs... Of course I mean real DVDs (and not DVDs made up from VCDs or so). For instance, I've got a 97 DVD show (handed over by Pierrot ) and apart from an irritating sheep trembling symptom at the beginning of the first three songs, and a relatively bad sound on 'Pallas Athena', it is quite well zoomed in on DB and the set list is just great. And in any case, I find it more 'seeable' than 'Cog In the Wheel' shared there... Of course, sharing REAL BAD DVDs is out of the question...

I agree on what Voyeur said. Good amateur shot DVD could be posted in DaD, or could be discussed here before so we don't have a flood of DVDs that only a few could handle to keep a decent ratio.
For CDs we could create a list of requirements in order to keep the best quality possible. Then they could be uploaded in DaD with a mark like [approved by former SJ, or WFSJ, etc] so we know that is a high quality boot. One thing could be: make Flacs just from Silvers, certain EAC options, artwork at 300dpi, etc.

Can we not share P2P among ourselves in the mean time, with Bit Torrent or Azureus ?. While this message board is up ?. Just a thought ?. A exclusive DB share site ?. We all must have some rare video that some of us won't have seen. I have been working on some local pro shot Reality footage for some time, which isn't quite "in my hands yet". Plus a "hash" vhs tape > dvdr of local content, that maybe of interest to other fans. Just food 4 thought. What do u think ?. T.J.N.

@dopazo: I meant my request for the future SJ, if there's any . If there's not, of course we could use Dime and this board to go on share DB's material... For the CDs: 100% agreed on a request list. I myself was very faithful to SJ as soon as I have discovered it, but have missed a lot of their 2004's uploads. Thanks to the SJ's War on Dime, I could get some of them . Maybe, as the Administrator, may you open a new section about 'Requests' in general, may they be on uploads or artworks or questions about sources etc...

I am making available my Tracker to all. It used to be just a member only tracker, but now all can upload and all can download. Its a very simple site to use but does the job of sharing material. batorrents.sytes.netplease report problems to: batorrent.proboards61.comthankyou.

The issue I have with Blog Torrent is that, it has server-side seeding requirements. In other words, one must upload the actual file to the server using the "blog torrent uploader", rather than using one's own BT client. The server acts as the seeder! I hope you have a lot of bandwidth for the server in the above scenario, due to the bandwidth concerns, otherwise your tracker will come to a slow crawl before long! LOL... I just noticed, my "karma" is now -1. Did I upset someone?

Yes, good idea. i'll create a Request room for SJ reseeds, artworks, etc. My idea is create forums as they are needed or requested. Sadly my english level doesn't allow me to make word games as titles for the forum ;D maybe i'm not so creative, so every idea for new forums names are welcome

The actual Tracker is now installed and ready to go, It is a modified version of TorrentTrader RC2. It has been tested and does work pretty good. The actual format and graphics of the site will be changing but it is ready to take members and uploads. If you are interested in sharing material please let me know and I shall add upload status to your account. I will be offering Montreal 83 as my first torrent offering in a couple days.

Dopazo, I cannot remember all the threads names but two were "Beware the Savage Jaw" for Torrents and "Low Tech at the wheel" for some techy help. Perhaps a PM to Bewley might be advisable. The question we should ask ourselves is do we want to recreate MDTM here or design something new? My opinion is if it ain't broken don't fix it so some input from Bewley could be the way to go on thread titles front. Others might want to do something completely different (which is also commendable)

Hello Guys! Dont mean to be a "party pooper", but is SJ really dead and buried for good? Given the activity at MDTM, I am not too sure! I would hate to see all the hard work done here go to waste! Perhaps a further "waiting" period of a month or so is in order! No flames or smites please.... LOL! My old bones wont take it!

I think it's better to not copy exactly what MDTM was.
Maybe we have to wait a couple of weeks to see how this is going and create some transition rooms, like the Requests one. (oops, sorry, i didin't create it.)
wait, there could be a description. A "transition-transmission" forum ;D mmm, this "general board" could be renamed like that.
