aka AladdinSane on the alt.fan.bowie newsgroup a long time ago?
I have most of his Images articles as they appeared on the news group and was thinking of reposting them here.
To the casual Bowie fan like myself, these articles sound fascinating. But was this guy really knowlegable enough to make the kind of claims, statements and assertions these articles contain?
If someone knows more about this guy and/or is familiar with these writings... could you give me a heads up before I go re-posting them? If they are utter fiction I will forget it.
But if they are even half accurate they could add a new dimension of discussion here.

I'm sorry but I can't vouch for the accuracy of Jamie's Images series but much of the material published was supported by books and articles published by other writers. I do recall that I found him quite difficult to deal with but that has no bearing on the validity of the work.
Any material of this type is bound to be colored by the opinions or prejudices of the author himself. I would have liked to have seen more verifiable references in the series but even so, the articles certainly provoked some interesting thoughts and discussions.
I'd say go for it.

I think at least most of the articles have already been archied somewhere, but for the life of me I can't remember where... Oh, yes I can... It's on that other fellow, Ginchy's site. Don't ask me for the address, I've forgotten it. :-( CHeers, Goblin. Hang on... try www.thebathers.com, (or co.uk)

You might be right. In any case, it wouldn't hurt to have a link to them.

I knew Jamie and I would like to think that we were friends. He is most knowledgeable about Bowie albeit somewhat self-opinionated. He was troubled by drink and drugs but, to me, was always kind, thoughtful and generous. I have not spoken to him for a couple of years. I miss him! Love on ya!

If anyone's interested, I tracked down Jamie Soule's review of the '76 concert that he attended. PM me for a copy (it's not one of the 57 chapters at the website given above). In his opinion, Bowie was then at his apogee.
One thing that stuck me about his pieces was that he used exact figures for album sales. Where would he have gotten these?

Ive got another 10 or so beyond the 57 posted in that link if anyone is interested. HB
